Like a shadow

You gave me respite

From the harsh

Bright, burning light.

As time passed

You stretched and grew,

Covering me over

Through and through.

As you spread out,

You, I could not define,

It seemed you got lost,

Lacking any line.

As Night drew down

Her darkening shade,

I lost you,

Missed you

For you began to fade.
